No education can be complete without the arts and creativity playing a central role in a child’s life.
The Annual Cultural day is a Red-Letter day for all schools. The students get a chance to display their talents in front of a big audience. The Annual Day of our school was held on Friday the 22nd of February 2019. The Chief guest for the evening was Kavingar J Arul Prakash, Tamil Orator, Poet, a famous personality in Tamil debate shows and is a high-school teacher at ELM Fabricius Higher Secondary School. He has participated and received accolades in various popular TV shows.
The School’s open-air auditorium was prepared for the occasion. It was decorated with Writings, Balloons, Banners, LED screen and Lights.
As the Chief Guest arrived, the school-band played a beautiful tune and he was escorted into the auditorium by the Members of the Managing Committee, the Principal and teachers.
The cultural show began with a welcome song and a prayer song. The children were all looking very colourful and lovely. The Western and Folk dance was a visual feast to the audience. They danced all around the stage and we could see the hard work the students had put in during the rehearsals, reaching its resounding culmination. There was loud applause all around for the dancers.
The Chief Guest was requested to give away the prizes to all the winners of various activities that were conducted during the Academic year. Addressing on the occasion, the Chief Guest lauded and praised the School for raising the Educational Standard in the City.
Tamil and English skits were performed too. The Tamil play was about a legendary Tamil Woman – ‘Kannagi’ – from the Tamil Epic Silapathikaram, while the English play was from the famous fairy tale - Cinderella. Both were very well appreciated.
All the parents and other guests enjoyed the whole evening very much.
The Principal proposed the vote of thanks. Finally, the National Anthem was sung, and the school Annual Day came to an end.
Robotics is designed to specifically encourage students to think critically, synthesise information and sharpen their teamwork and communication skills.
At Swamy’s School, all students are given the opportunity to learn robotics, and interested students are encouraged to build on this foundation by participating in our “Robotics Fest” conducted every year. The Projects displayed were – Black Line following Robot, Solar Tracking, Mobile control, TV Remote control robot, Sumo Robot, Soccer Robot, Edge avoiding Robot and Obstacle avoiding Robots. Students have embraced the program with an eagerness to explore, an openness to feedback, and a wonderful ownership of their accomplishments. They are well on their way to becoming the next generation of innovators, inventors, and leaders.
All participants were awarded certificates, as a token of appreciation.

The much-awaited Annual Sports Day of Swamy’s School was held on Thursday the 10th of January 2019. Sports always play a vital role in making the child sound physically and mentally.
The spectacular event was inaugurated by the ceremonial prayer. The Chief Guest Dr.T.Maran, Coach of the Indian Badminton Team, took the salute at the glorious marchpast by the students at the parade. The inaugural dance and drills induced a vibrant ambience. The beautiful displays of Yoga, Pyramid formation, Self-defence and Silambattam showed a sense of discipline and concentration.
After the Prize distribution and the National Anthem, the meet was declared closed.
Children learnt the process of milk procurement, processing, quality check and the distribution of milk by Aavin milk processing unit and the different ways of propagation of plants and effective ways of terrace gardening at Madhavaram Botanical Garden.
An educational tour to Chennai Rail Museum was arranged for the primary students of Swamy’s Group of Schools.
Children got the opportunity to learn about the evolution of railway transportation through rare photographs, working scale model of trains, artifacts and exhibits of train models since the British era.

Students of Swamy’s School went on a field trip, where they got the opportunity to connect with nature through hands-on- experience in organic farming as well as the techniques of sowing, re-planting, re-weeding, and harvesting.
Fire is a good servant
But a bad master!
Fire prevention is everybody's job. Safety can distinguish you. Lack of safety can extinguish you. As part of safety measure, a two-day Fire and Safety training workshop was held at Swamy’s Group of Schools. The entire workshop was very informative along with practical training on fire and safety.
The greatest wealth is health!
A health talk on the balanced diet, nutrition and the digestive system was organized at Swamy’s School. The science team from Yakult Danone India Pvt. Limited conducted the health talk focusing on the importance of the intestinal microbiota, its influence on health and the concept of probiotics. The session was made interesting and fascinating with the demonstrations of digestive system models, presentations and films.

Swamy’s School is passionate about the environment and proactive in its approach in ensuring a greener tomorrow. Inspired by the desire for a green earth and to meet the challenge of climate change, a tree planting activity was carried out in the school premises. Young students enthusiastically participated in the activity. Smiles on their faces express the happiness within.
